Expected Results
of the GreenEDU Project

The GreenEDU project is designed to equip higher education institutions, educators, and students with the tools and skills needed to embrace the transition towards a sustainable, green economy. To achieve this, the project delivers a variety of innovative tools and activities — ranging from evaluation and testing sessions to piloting workshops — all focused on strengthening green and digital competences in higher education. Key outcomes of the project include:

  • e-Toolkit for the preparation and implementation of a Green Higher Education Action Plan
  • Augmented reality-based Green Curriculum to strengthen the capacity of higher education educators
  • Learning Design Framework to promote students’ green and digital competences
  • Digital Escape Rooms and Animated Videos as engaging educational tools
  • Direct involvement of at least 500 higher education students in GreenEDU implementation activities

Together, these outputs will help universities modernize their teaching approaches, align education with the demands of the green economy, and contribute to long-term sustainable development.

The GreenEDU Higher Education Strategy document

“The GreenEDU Higher Education Strategy document is a guiding document for the GreenEDU consortium partners to use as a stepping stone towards the development of the rest of the project activities and results. It includes primary and secondary research carried out in each of the participating countries, with valuable information on green skills and AR in higher education.”

The e-Toolkit has been developed by the GreenEDU Consortium Partners. Its objective is to create a space where HE educators, HE staff, leaders, and other relevant stakeholders can access knowledge and experience to inform their own work. The e-Toolkit contains information to help the aforementioned target audience understand the what and how of incorporating green skills in HE curricula, and gain knowledge on using Augmented Reality (AR) tools to assist them in teaching these green skills and making learning more fun and interactive.

Therefore, this e-Toolkit is a collection of guidelines and best practices on how HE educators can encourage and successfully engage students in education for green skills and the green economy through AR. It will also support them in:

● Becoming familiar with the importance and context of green skills and the green economy through AR technology,

● Gaining practical knowledge and getting inspired through other best practices on including green skills in their curricula,

● Having access to the GreenEDU Education HE Strategy and being able to draft a Green Education Action Plan, and

● Improving the students’ green skills and greening HE activities
