Inleiding

GreenEDU implementation activities and other relevant events aim to support Higher Education educators and students in developing green and digital skills that will allow them to participate in the green economy once they graduate which will allow them to fight environmental degradation. Finally, promotional activities and 4 events will be organized to further disseminate the project and its results. GreenEDU is co-funded by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union.

Partners

The GreenEDU project unites several partners to integrate sustainability into higher education curricula and equip students with green and digital skills.

TUL (Lodz University of Technology) aims to bridge academic knowledge with industry demands by developing innovative programs that enhance employability and sustainability.
CleverMind leverages its expertise in educational innovation to create impactful training and foster collaborations between academia and the green sector.
VIVES richt zich op het verbeteren van zijn Groen Hoger Onderwijs Actie Plan, met name door middel van extended reality-toepassingen, en bereidt studenten en docenten voor op de groene economie.
UNIC (University of Nicosia) seeks to advance sustainability in higher education by implementing actions like Green HED Action Plan, ensuring students and staff are ready for careers in green fields.
INNOVADE brings expertise in e-learning, contributing tools like AR-based curricula and digital escape rooms to promote environmental awareness and digital readiness.
UT (University of Tartu) is dedicated to integrating sustainability and digital advancements into higher education, empowering students and educators with future-ready skills.

Politechnika Łódzka, Technische Universiteit Lodz (TUL)

Politechnika Łódzka contributes to the GreenEDU project through several key activities, e.g.:

Expertise in sustainability and green technologies: leveraging its strong background in environmental engineering and sustainable practices, TUL provides academic expertise and educational resources essential for developing project curricula and educational materials.
Research and development: The university’s research capabilities support the creation and dissemination of new knowledge and innovations at the intersection of higher education and the green economy.
Curriculum development: TUL leads the design and implementation of educational modules that bridge educational and skill gaps, preparing students for future roles in the green economy.

Event Highlights

Kick-Off meeting

The GreenEDU project (“Closing the gaps between HE and the green economy”) held its kick-off meeting with all partners in January 2025 in green and beautiful Cyprus 🍊 The goal of the project was discussed along with each partners role and detailed plan to achieve it.

Also, our 1st online meeting took place on 6th of March. Where all the partners presented their work packages and updates on the progress.

Work packages

UNIC is the leader for WP2: e-Toolkit and Green Higher Education (HE) strategy. This work package aims to prepare and implement a Green Higher Education Action Plan to help improve the green skills and competencies of HE students and build the capacity of HE educators to use Mobile Augmented Reality to teach students how to address the green economy and the changing labor market, especially in the STEM, education, and business sectors. As part of this WP, UNIC will lead the development of the GreenEDU Higher Education Strategy to enable the activities and results of the project and the creation of the GreenEDU e-Toolkit which will provide guidelines and theoretical material to HE educators to assist them in transferring the relevant knowledge to their students.

VIVES University of Applied Sciences is in the lead for WP3, which focuses on designing and developing a GreenEDU AR Green Curriculum aimed at building the capacity of higher education (HE) educators and institutions. This curriculum will enable HE students to enhance their green skills and competencies through the use of Mobile Augmented Reality (MARG), addressing the changing economy and environmental challenges. The objectives of this work package are: 1) developing a green curriculum to equip educators with the necessary knowledge about the green economy and digital transformation; 2) building educators’ capacity to use AR in addressing environmental change and green economy opportunities; and 3) creating a GreenEDU framework to enhance educators’ understanding of best practices in promoting green and digital transitions.

CleverMind is co-leading WP4: GreenEDU Digital Escape Rooms. This WP focuses on developing innovative pedagogical quality resources for HE educators to use and improve HE students’ green skills and competencies and engagement towards the green economy and Increase awareness of students about the significance of the changing labor market through the set of Digital Escape Rooms to support both target groups, HE educators and students. CleverMind is responsible for preparation of 6 Animation GreenEDU video series linked with the Digital Escape Rooms to raise awareness among HE students and enable them to change behaviour, be climate-conscious and contribute to the green transition by the use of their skills and compete.

INNOVADE co-leading WP4, which focuses on the design and development of innovative Digital Escape Rooms as a pedagogical tool to enhance students’ green and digital skills. By integrating gamification and immersive learning strategies, INNOVADE seeks to boost student motivation, foster critical thinking, and promote active learning around sustainability and climate action topics.

Additionally, INNOVADE proudly co-hosted the project’s Kick-off Meeting in Nicosia, demonstrating its commitment to cross-sectoral collaboration and effective project coordination from the outset. Through these efforts, INNOVADE aims to maximize the impact and sustainability of GreenEDU outcomes at both national and European levels.
